History

FC Brøndby was founded on 3 December 1889 as Brøndbyøster Idrætsforening. The club's early years were spent in the lower divisions of Danish football. In 1964, the club merged with Brøndbyvester Idrætsforening to form Brøndby Sports Club.

Brøndby IF's first major success came in 1985 when the club won the Danish Cup. The club's first league title followed in 1987, and Brøndby has since been one of the most successful clubs in Denmark.

Stadium

FC Brøndby plays its home matches at Brøndby Stadium, which has a capacity of 29,000. The stadium opened in 1965 and has hosted several international matches, including matches at the 1992 European Championship.
